Is there any good body paint for the DIY.

I want to repaint a classic car myself but do not have the professional facilities to use 2k so what is the best option for hard-wearing, glossy chip resistant paint. I've been told by a number of people that cellulose paint is nowhere near as good as it used to be,and having sprayed my last car with it, I agree. I've been suggested QAD enamel but turns out it's unsuitable for automotive. Does anyone have any first hand experience which they would recommend.
