Any Moto Guzzi V100 Mandrel S riders?
Discussion
Looking at a Moto Guzzi V100 Mandrello S having just had a test ride of one, simply want to move away from my Adventure bike seeing as 99.9% of my riding is on the roads and want to move away from a 21" front wheel back to a 17".
If so, anything to look out for, quite fortunate that there is 2 garages approx 30 miles in each direction that sell and service Moto Guzzi's so dealership location is not a problem.

Yeah the quick shifter is pointless going up the gears to 3rd (bit like a r1250 gs), coming down its very slick, clutch was nice and smooth as was the throttle. 4 rider modes all very nice and you can feel the difference when selecting them.
I was really surprised how comfortable it was considering I'm 6ft 1", really good riding position and the screen in top position does take most of the wind away.
Sounds great and again, I think I could ride it non stop between petrol stops no problem...
p.s lets be honest, its a real looker as well and considering I don't go off-road I wonder why I should keep my Tiger 900 RP...

Couldn't picture it from the name

The engine has always looked wrong to me since they swapped the orientation of the inlet and exhaust, same as the BMW boxer twin.
At least you won't be parked up next to another every time you stop.
If you like it, go for it, fitted a quickshifter to my Thruxton R and thats also redundant unless you're above 3rd and gunning it.

I agree that there's no sense in having a 21" wheel on a road bike although a 19" doesn't put me off an adventure bike as they aren't the last word in feel and finesse regardless
I love the Guzzi V twin character so I was surprised to see they fitted a balancer to reduce the rocking on this new engine
Looks good to my (old) eyes too

It still rocks when you rev it, not as much as a GS boxer but it does rock, and the vibes are there but probably felt them less than I do on my Tiger 900...I love the Guzzi V twin character so I was surprised to see they fitted a balancer to reduce the rocking on this new engine

I did wonder about the Mandrel - another new Guzzi??!
I also like the look of this and thinking of getting a test ride, maybe with a view to getting one in 2026 to allow for a bit more depreciation. I did see one advertised which had shocking flaking of the paint on the cylinder heads. Looked really bad for a one year old bike but hopefully it's not typical.

Seen that also, they were talking about it being a cast issue as it was the aluminium that was the issue, hopefully a one off...I also like the look of this and thinking of getting a test ride, maybe with a view to getting one in 2026 to allow for a bit more depreciation.
