can you recognise this late 1950s 2-seater?

Found this picture in my late parents' photos. Taken in 1960 in Rotherham but I have no clue what the make and model is. Any ideas?

Great pic. Using Google Lens, I came up with this (but it still took some searching). It's the only 'special' (as such cars were known in the day) that I found with a similar front grill opening.

When I first saw it, my instant reaction was Rochdale.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, in my defence I was rushing a bit and it's not far off looks wise.

The Rochdale has the same sweep to the rear of the front wing, the front valance looks the same and the indicators are placed identically.

It must be a Rochdale surely?

Or can I expect a whoosh parrot? :-)

Perthshire issued plate. Love the grille badges, AA & RAC but what are the others ?
