Storing tyres in loft

I have bought some part worn tyres from eBay. My current winter tyres are at 3mm and due for replacement next winter.
Is it safe to store tyres in the loft. I'm concerned about the high temperatures during the summer.
Most garages store tyres where ever there is space even outdoors. Is it safe to store tyres in the loft. I'm concerned about the high temperatures during the summer.
Definetly not in a climate controlled room.
Most garages are little more than a metal shed. It will be freezing just now and roasting in summer just as your loft is.

Have you measured the loft hatch to make sure the tyres will actually fit through the hatch.
If it's off the rim then it's easy enough to put a strap round a tyre to squash it in one direction. There would be no problem fitting an ordinary car tyre through any opening you can fit a person through.GreenV8S said:

TBH if I had 1mm of usable tread on my current tyres I’d take a view on the hassle of putting 4 tyres in and out of a loft. It’s got to be an hour or mores work for what gains?
Where legally required, winter tyres cease to be winter tyres at 4mm - they have an extra set of treadwear indicators at 4mm.Gassing Station | Suspension, Brakes & Tyres | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
