Happy New Year all!

I know this has been done millions of times and I’ve read through a lot of the posts but I’m at a point now where I’m fed up with making/saving money for others for little reward.

My background was sales nothing fancy just mobile phones from 2005-2014 was a good performer and held in high regards but there was never a decent commission scheme just a quarterly bonus that was based on collective performance not Individual.

I then ended up doing a bit of customer services for one of the big banks and subsequently moved to fraud investigator which I performed extremely well but again the reward vs my savings weren’t in my opinion on balance, at the point I went into the coaching and quality side of things for a little pay increase but again I’m now at a point where I’m getting older and feel like I should be earning more for my age.

I’m not very creative, and have no real qualifications only life skills and key skills I have gained via previous roles.

I see all these TikTok people raking it in whilst I’m earning pennies in comparison, to be honest it’s got me down and got me thinking I need to be doing better and push on now.

Just wanted to get this off my chest.

I wouldn't let what people are supposedly earning on TikTok get you down. Like those claiming to be earning thousands/millions on OnlyFans my guess is that most of it is just BS.

Totally ignore the TikTok'ers and the like, 99 times out of 100 its fake for views / engagement / sell you a course.

Based on your background, I would try to get an entry level role in a Tech company in sales. Highly likley to be a BDR / SDR role (Cold calling and meeting setting for the sales reps) but a year or two doing that with your work ethic and high performance will have you as an Account Executive (Sales rep) within that time frame.

SDRs for US based tech companies can earn between £40k-60k with Account Executives earning £80k+ base salary and well into the 6 figures if successful.

As a future long term goal, the top AEs in the big companies can earn 7 figures if they do well (Good territory, big deal closes etc.). But that will be a while off for you.

Start at the bottom using your sales skills and experience in B2B selling will give you the career and lifestyle you are looking for.
