So yesterday I picked up the replacement for my M4 and made it home before the snow! I was after something fun, practical (ish) with 4 doors and then this popped up at a main dealer and hour away so....

Genuinely an awesome piece of kit!

So nearly 3 months with the G80 and I am have managed a few long runs, commuting and some A and B road driving.

The most surprising thing is how much more visceral the acceleration is than the F82 was. In real world conditions it's probably not any quicker 0-60 or 30-70 but it feels more aggressive, the gear changes in sport plus give satisfying thump when you're pushing, the 4WD isn't as intrusive as some others (you can get the back end out if that's your thing!)

I had three adult passengers on a 380 mile round trip and they were all comfortable, if a little awestruck with the acceleration.

Apart from an annoying rattle from the rear parcel shelf, which seems to float un-fastened over the rear cross member (which surely can't be how it was intended, I am still very much in awe of this thing!

IOM Green is probably my favourite colour on the G80. Black and Kayalami interior is nice but too much to look after black paintwork.
Nice to see you don’t have black leather interior, looks so much better with the Silverstone leather.

When these first came out I didn’t like them at all but they are certainly growing on me. Different to when I first saw an F80 M3 back in late 2014 I absolutely loved the look and bought one not long after. Probably why I’ve kept it over 8 years but it only does about 1500 a year now as don’t have much use for it. Hard to replace as mine has 18k options including leather dash and CCB. One thing I don’t like about it as I’m getting older is the harsh ride and tyre noise which I think is much improved on the G80.

Never had any love for the M4 in either F82 or G82, just looks don’t do it for me.

Anyway, great colour combo G80 M3 you have, looks great.
