Do these truss plates require nails?
Discussion
They're remarkably strong too - we had a large open sided porch on our house that was crushed by a huge old Douglas Fir landing on it.
The roof was supported by some pretty serious engineered timber trusses built with doubled up 8x2s.
The impact snapped, broke and splintered the timber like match wood yet there was no sign of any movement at all at any of the plates - impressive stuff.
