Hi guys and girls hope all is well

Going to try summarise best I can
Purchased a car from a trader was told I would have to apply for v5 - done this previously so no issues with that
Bought the car invoice in hand all good applied for v5 via v62 and got a letter back after 4 weeks stating they need to see the photos of the physical car, the reg plates and all the chassis numbers namely
- windscreen
- door jam sticker
- etched into engine bay or under drive seat

All good sent this off via email received an automatic reply stating 'upto 10 weeks' to be processed

Has anyone had this sort of issue, I'm only after a realistic time scale 10 weeks on top of the initial 4 weeks is shocking and I just want to get into my car and start driving it. Is there any chance people have had it back sooner

I wound appreciate any reply please
Thanks in advance

I feel your pain. I’ve been trying to get a new V5 for a car a bought three months ago. First attempt, they asked for £25 (even though I had a copy of an older V5), second attempt the post office lost the postal order and now on the third attempt.

Yep, a little stressful as a family we don't want to drive the car anything can happen, get into an accident and then no payout until logbook is in our name, would be ok if it was a cheap car but it's over £30k worth of motor so jisy in limbo and a waiting game, have seen various posts regarding this topic but nobody ever said how long it actually took and if they did get it back, was only after a realistic timescale 10 weeks is horrible 🥲

Hope you get it all sorted bud on your end now that that the holiday period is over I reckon you'll get sorted soon enough

Hi
I was wondering if you managed to get the logbook after you sent in the requested information.

We are in a similar situation in that purchased the vehicle. Didn't have a logbook at the time but applied with v62 and paid the £25 fee. 3 weeks oe so later received a letter from them asking for pretty much the same into they asked of you, photos, reg plates, proof of purchase etc.
Emailed it in and got that 10 week response email

Was wondering if you managed to get your logbook and how long did it take in the end for the logbook to arrive.

Any help is appreciated
Thank you
