Can any of you guys help i have an idea but it might be stupid. I have removed a bad break servo off my qashqai today. It took a bit of force and it's impossible to get the new one in. I only found out after removing, the engine needs to be moved to get the new 1 in. I'm a very amateur mechanic but I'm capable of most things, just takes 10 x longer. So how the F do I remove the engine. I don't want to actually remove it if possible. My idea is hopefully to lower the engine a bit to squeeze it in the back. Is this possible? If i sit the engine on a trolley jack and remove the engine mounts will i be able to drop it an inch or 2 or am i going to sbao something? Is there anything I should disconnect before hand if this will work? Any body got any advice pleeease

Remove/loosen engine/gearbox mount/mounts.

Just make sure the whole lump is well supported before doing so.

Will a trolley jack be enough support underneath or can u suggest anything else. Will I have much play with the engine. How far down can I safley lower the engine?

depends on your jack, depends how the vehicle is supported, depends on many things.

And presumably you have the vehicle in front of you to look at, to see how much room you might have to lower the engine, it's pretty difficult to see from here.

Although most vehicles have a suspension cradle under the engine which would restrict movement, that might need removed too.

But again, surely you can look and see what you want to happen, vs what is needed to make it happen ?
