Morning guys, speaking with a mate last night, we usually go to Silverstone but have decided this year to do FOS instead.

We'd look at travelling down Friday morning, being there Friday and Saturday or travelling Saturday and being there Sat/Sun.

Starline Club looks good, worth it? Or any other suggestions?

As for where to stay, I guess things will be pretty sold out so I'm starting my research but again any advice appreciated. If we've got SC tickets then we'd have on-site parking but how bad is the traffic trying to get in? Silverstone was a killer.

Cheers

Been several years since I last went to FOS but parking is on-site; either camping or general parking, which is what we used.

Traffic the last few miles (mostly the country lanes) was a bit of a nightmare, made worse by the ocassional cars going the opposite way. Depending on what car you arrive in, you might be able to get one of the closer car parks. If you have a Porsche then the PCGB usually release first-come-first-served spots near to the enterance

Thanks, good to know.

I've found an AirBnB about a mile away for the two of us but £1,000/night to rest our heads for a few hours each night is crazy.

Allows us to be up early though and the Startline Club tickets look a decent base. Anyone who thinks the likes of Center Parcs is mental wants to try taking up a passion for motorsport.

Glad I'm going with someone who has realistic expectations being an F1 fan - if I'd suggested a couple of days away to most other people to Goodwood then came back with the costings they'd just stare at me with a blank expression!

Not going in the Porsche unfortunately as he's driving

Midhurst, South Harting & Chilgrove Pubs are all good, and, give a nice drive down.

If you are able to arrive when gates open the traffic in is fine.

If you a: can get up early and b: have a car allowed into Performance Parking, I’d strongly recommend it.

Performance Parking opens before the gates, the West car park is next to the F1 Paddock and you have the place to yourself.

See Niki’s office:

That said, if you like watching cars race, Member’s Meeting is a great day out.

Went last year with my lad after a few years of Silverstone.

Found a very good Air BnB west of Brighton, took us 30 mins to drive in on Sat morning, no issues at all.

Have booked again for this year but going in the MoHo this time.

Only got round to actually booking today, Startline Club was sold out for the Saturday so had to go with the Friday. Roaming grandstand also sold out for the Friday so just had to go with general admission tickets. £1,500 each for 2 days including 2 nights Airbnb is steep so I hope it’s worth it! Having to add on a hotel on the Thursday night to make sure we can get there early and with food/drink etc it’s a £2k couple of days!

That’s because you want it to be wink drop the start line club and it’s easily doable for 2 for a few hundred.

Startline is only £390 of that.

It’s down to needing to stay somewhere for 2 nights, well 3 including the Thursday to make sure we make the most of the Friday.

Wish we’d been doing it the other way around with SLC on the Saturday but left it too late.

Ah apologies I thought it was one of the fancier hospitality joints. But for anyone who stumbles across this thread you do not need to spend £4,000 for 2 to spend a day at FoS, it can be done at a fraction of the cost for all 4 days.
