You are probably best doing the repairs yourself as depending on the model it might not be worth putting it in somewhere for the repairs.
If you took the g shock somewhere to get the battery changed then it sounds like they've made a couple of mistakes, so not sure if I'd bring it back to them.
The button issue will likely be because they removed the module (the circuit board) during the battery replacement. There are 4 metal contacts which go under the pusher buttons. I often have to tuck these under the plastic buttons using tweezers when putting a module back in. These can sit "behind" the pushers rather than underneath them, so when you press your buttons they aren't actually pressing the bent metal tang.
This video doesn't show you how, but clearly shows the 4 bent bits of metal (contacts) at the buttons:

The lack of beep will be because there is a spring which should touch the caseback. This will have popped out. If its missing then you'll be able to order a replacement, but it's possible it could be loose inside the watch.
