Far too familiar on these threads, I need to get my act together. I've stuffed myself to within 300g of last year's starting weight. By the end of the year I was looking forward to getting home, breaking the unravelling and start being good (again!). An old boss used to call me 'seasonally plump' so I don't think the year-end meltdown is a new thing! When my head is in the right place, I can lose 10kg+ pretty quickly - sadly my head is often in the cake aisle.
Slimming world approach for me, lots of rowing, lots of walking. If I can fix the yo-yo, I'll be pleased.
This year I intend to post every week - no matter what my weight is doing.

I’m in (again)
One of the previous threads really helped me before, can’t remember which year it was but it was at a point where I could spend all my spare time running, cycling or working out, so a good few years ago.
Unfortunately since then I’ve spent too much time neglecting myself, sitting behind a desk all day and doing no movement at all, and slowly gone from the ridiculous 75kg I was at to much more.
Aim is to get down to a point where I’m less embarrassed about the way I look for a family holiday in June.
I’ll update myself on the wiki tomorrow after the first weigh in.

Likewise, will weigh in tomorrow . Glovermart’s thread is a great read, he is an inspiration in losing so much this year.
Well done mate.
Thanks mate. On the whole, it's been an enjoyable journey but I'll enjoy it more if it ends with me at target weight.Well done mate.
Off out on a parkrun shortly; legs are a little heavy after a 9 mile walk yesterday but I'll finish the parkrun and take the time whatever it ends up being.
100% in for this for 2025.
Currently 12st 11lbs which is the heaviest I’ve ever been. I’m 5’11” and have been a keen cyclist / runner for the last few years, but at 41 neglecting my diet a bit has seen the scales and body fat creep up to around 22%
Determined to get on top of things from hereon in. No target weight as such but I’d like to be c17% BF and add some lean muscle.
Good luck everyone!

Still wanting to lose a bit more weight myself; most of it has been through ill health and lack of eating. But my aim is to try and sort my eating the best I can and go from my current 109kg down to 100kg MAX
At 6ft 4 and was 22 stone (140kg); I've lost that in 2024 via the above issues; but I'm still trying to maintain my training the best I can and managing to develop a better shape etc
Only struggle is legs due to the internal issues I have; but I'll just hammer reps rather than weight

Yeah - I'm in on this!
Heaviest I've ever been right now @116kg - need to shed 15% as a bare minimum to get back down to under 100kg.... 90kg might be a stretch - which would still leave me technically obese.....

Note that i'm currenly the heaviest on the Wiki hopefully wont be winning that one for too long....

Yes thanks @22 as it was me that asked and you have delivered.
Have got off to a good start as just been out for a 5k walk in the rain and wind and feel good about it for sure. Used "plotaroute" which I use for MTB which is really good and now have a nice 5k route I can start to walk/run on and eventually run in one go. I wanted to give it a practice go so went out with Mrs Intersteller, its lively weather out there today!
Feeling motivated but its Day 1, if I cant today then I'm fked!

I've piled the weight on after breaking my leg / trashing knee playing football back in July but if I'm honest I eat too much crap food and drink way too much beer so perfect storm really Going to resurrect myfitnesspal and strava for 2025 see if I can get back to some level of fitness and lose some blubber.
No probs. Setting up the Wiki is one thing but we all have to play a part in keeping others/ourselves motivated!
Let us know how you're all approaching this - move more, eat less, fat clubs, gyms, jabs/medicinal, keto, fasting etc. lots of ways to skin a tubby cat.
For me it's a slimming world-type diet. LOTS of carbs, but low/no fat - no idea the science behind it, but it works for me. A treat day each Friday (after weighing-in) and a lot of exercise. I'll probably join the local slimming world group (again!), it's an extra layer of accountability - and much cheaper than the personal trainer I had for a while last year.
I haven't quite got my diet in check yet, but day 3 back on the rowing machine and will (gently) try and push my 5k time back to where it ought to be. Once I get a bit of reasonable fitness back, I'll start some proper training to get my 2k time under 7 minutes - which is tough for an old boy.
I love numbers (other than my weight!) so enjoy seeing my resting heart rate, cardio fitness, body fat % all shifting as I get more active.

I am not allowed to edit the wiki page yet, but you can add me to the bottom by copy and pasting (I've checked it's ok in the preview screen) :
|| Tisy || 118 kg || 76 kg (12st) || 118kg 1/1/25 || Carnivore + occasional veg. No sugars. 15-20 min daily exercises with kettlebell. 48 yrs, 6ft 2 || . ||

I fractured my tibia / wrecked my knee playing football back in July and it's been completely debilitating and really opened my eyes to how impactive on day to day life a mobility issue can be.Let us know how you're all approaching this - move more, eat less, fat clubs, gyms, jabs/medicinal, keto, fasting etc. lots of ways to skin a tubby cat.

I've always "worked hard & played hard" in terms of diet / exercise, never had to watch what I eat & always drank a lot more beer than the doctor would advise but whilst we could all be fitter / healthier / slimmer, have never really had an issue with my weight. After the leg break I've continued with the eating / drinking, but done virtually no exercise (other than physio type knee strengthening exercises) as knee couldn't take it and have inevitably piled on the pounds.
I have a treadmill and an exercise bike (road bike with back wheel removed connected to a turbo trainer) at home so from an exercise point of view I should be sorted as long as the knee holds up. Subscribe to Zwift and have garmin / strava to keep track and give me some numbers to play with in a spreadsheet which I find a good motivator!
From a calorie intake POV I have reinstalled myfitnesspal and will give it a go, appreciate it's only vaguely accurate but I like the fact it makes me mindful of what I'm about to eat / drink and gives rough indication of how many calories I'm under / over for the day after factoring in the exercise. Beer will be my kryptonite, love nothing more than kicking back with a few cans on a night after a tough day at work
Good luck all!
