What has he done....over and above for what he has been paid to do......?
He's a trustee (chairman actually iirc) of the Grand Prix Trust, which is like a benevolent fund for the F1 industry. Not that it's particularly relevant anyway, because he got the OBE for the work he is payed for.
Some would say the OBE was a day late and dollar short, whether it was deserved or not it's six in one and half a dozen on the other so I'm not fussed personally.
It could have been worse: awarded with a box full of neutrals but I'm sure he'll be hugging the medal like it's his favourite granny even though it looks flat as a 50 pence piece.

Tiresome. Some people are just joyless.
Yep, these bitter and sour types just suck the joy out of everything. If it was that easy, why don't you do it? Matey has achieved the square root of bugger all in life and then bleats because someone else gets recognised for their contribution to society. Pathetic, really. LivLL said:

Indeed. I was going through the list this morning (I've still been missed off) as colleagues are sometimes included and a couple of friends have MBE's or OBE's.Many of the awards are to people doing their job, but generally they do it well and are an excellent ambassador/representative for their sector.
I assume the people commenting about them being paid are also the same ones who say bonuses shouldn't be given to employees because they are only doing the job they are paid to do.
