Getting Service History from Bentley
Discussion
Does anyone know if Bentley have a central service history database?
I'm interested in a 2006 Bentley - most of the service history is missing but I'd imagine it was serviced at Bentley for at least the first few years.
I'd greatly appreciate any help - in the past with other marques I've found dealers quote GDPR as an excuse not to give out service history but GDPR only relates to details of the owner not the car!
Many thanks in advance

GDPR is an issue because the service records usually include details of the (then) owners of the vehicle.
Especially from 2006 up to the mid 2010s, because the service history wasn't a "digital record" but it was more of a case where manufacturers would have the invoicing and sales information for that service saved digitally. This is not the same as a more modern "digital service record" where a digital tick box form has replaced a physical service book.
Not all manufacturers are the same but even with Bentley being high-end, I'd imagine that most of the proof of servicing falls under GDPR because in those earlier years, the record they have internally contains the GDPR related information.
Incidentally, I went to sell a car once that I bought from a main dealer before GDPR was a thing, and the car came with all of the old service history and receipts etc with ex-owner details on them but I couldn't find the paperwork, so I called the dealer I bought it from to see if they could supply me with the digital copies. I bought the car before GDPR regs, and sold it after.
Given they had already supplied me the paperwork the first time round, before the regs, I figured maybe they'd do it again despite the new regs but no bueno - they wouldn't supply me with the information. They would not do anything for me to give me proof of service history on the car and wouldn't write me anything up - very frustrating as I knew selling a £35k Porsche privately without any history would be a nightmare. Luckily, I found all the history and the car sold for full asking price within 5 days.
