Torbeck valves (toilet flush)

My toilet has a bottom feed Torbeck valve similar to the image below, which is dreadfully slow at refilling the cistern. I understand it might have a filter that could be blocked, which I will check.

My question is about the pressure reducer (the small spiral looking part) that can be removed and changed depending on whether it's a mains of gravity fed system (mine is mains). Could I remove any reducer completely to see if it fills up quicker, or would this be a bad idea?

Remove the top nut, blue in pikky, there is a rubber diaphragm inside which could be ripped.

Take note of the way it comes apart, there are notches in the circumference which must be correctly aligned.

I have nothing positive to add sorry, but I recall filling problems used to be fixed by bending the metal arm the ballcock was on up & down accordingly to the issue.

Thanks, but I think thats a different type of system (the round ballcock on along arm) to my toilet

I would still replace the diaphragm, have had this in the past and it looked OK.

Screw fix sell them not expensive part number 5006J, but take care their are two sizes 29 and 31mm.
