I hadn't realised how much I missed live music
Discussion
Due to Covid and a few other family reasons I have not been to a live gig for years. I don't mean big stadium concerts - I mean small gigs in pubs and clubs.
This evening I find myself in a barn, drinking cider and watching/listening to a local band playing live.
The music is not quite to my taste but I am still bloody loving it.
Bring on more live music in 2025.

I absolutely love the feeling live music brings but the behaviour of others in the crowds increasingly puts me off.
Glad you've rekindled your love, long may it last.
This was last week, great performance but sullied by people seemingly more interested in having a chat with their mates.

Our local has an open mic night every month, and we were there yesterday.
Bloody marvellous. The "house" band were very good, the bass player especially so. The "guest" players were all a bit C & W for me, but at least they made a good stick of it (I corpse playing to a live audience)

I went to see a shouty metal band I used to like back in the day last month, in a little venue out the back of a pub in town. Supported by another shouty metal band I didn't really follow back then, but still enjoyed.
It was bloody awesome, and I'm hoping I can do more of it next year. Just felt a bit old when I realised the last time I saw them was 22 years ago...

Live small club gigging is one of the few experiences I'm prepared to put up with rubbing shoulders with the great unwashed, long since given that up on public transport, football, cinema and pubs, but nothing beats a great gig with an appreciative audience.
