Cine 8 to USB help.
Discussion
I've been putting this off for years but need to do it for other family members etc. I have 3or 4 7" reels to convert that my Dad spliced together. I have his old projector but from memory needs a new lamp and the last time I used it would stop occasionally and 'burn' a few frames.
Can anybody recommend a company to do it professionally? Thanks for any help.

Although it's about converting VHS to digital, many of the replies mention cine film transfers, and several of the places offering VHS to digital also offer cine film to digital transfers.

Ask about locally - I did and someone had a couple of old projectors in their loft when I had an old family cine.
Borrowed them and found one that worked consistently - projected it onto a white screen in a darkened room and once I reduced the frame rate of the capturing camera it worked a treat.

Used ours for transfering 50 odd reels of 8mm cine which my dad had filmed -to digi files and then onto DVD discs - copies of which we sent to other family members - who inturn sent us all their 8mm films for conversion, we did around 200 family cine films in all!! -- all I can say is this piece of kit was worth every penny.
good luck

I've been meaning to get something sorted out with our old family cine film. I did look a few years ago and came up with this company in Dorset.
