Ticket to the Daytona 500... Now to plan the rest of it...!

So recent breakup with a long term partner has pushed me in to making plans and getting myself out into the world on my own to discover some happiness and give me something to look forward to.

To this end, I've booked a Sunday ticket for the Daytona 500 because I've always wanted to see a NASCAR race, so why wait?

I have been to Florida quite a bit when I was a kid so I'm not remotely fussed about Disney etc., just after some advice from locals / experienced travellers as to what else / where else to go. Thinking of making it 10 days / couple of weeks, will rent a car, happy driving about and so on, happy interactig with strangers and just seeing what's out there.

I'd love to see a rocket launch but that seems to just be fluke on the day really as nothing seems planned very far in advance.

If you want to do something non car related, visit St Augustine (oldest city in FL), take an airboat ride in the Everglades, visit The Breakers in WPB, drive down through the Florida Keys to Key West, visit the Hemingway House, Little White House, get drunk on Duval St etc. Few ideas there.
