40d Alternator Replacement

Hi all - I have a “battery not charging” error on my F15 X5 40d.
Battery is showing 11.1v when running so I am pretty sure it is the alternator.
Is there a workshop guide or a good tutorial on how to remove this on an X5? I have found a few videos but they tend to be for 3 series or the E70 X5 which seem to be slightly more accessible. There are quite a few bits in the way so would prefer a guide to ensure I can follow step by step (and then do it again in reverse!)
Trying to find the workshop manuals online is proving difficult as all the old links seem to be dead.
