Just trying to replicate what I do on my iPhone with Siri and WhatsApp on my elderly parents Android phones. Banging my head against a wall.

Simple requirement. Say ‘send WhatsApp to ‘The Five P’s’

The Five P’s being a family group.

On an iPhone, Siri does everything as expected. Message dictated and sent to all five members.

On Android, I’ve downloaded Google Assistant. All works OK. Allowed access to WhatsApp. Used the voice training etc.

No problem sending WhatsApp messages to individuals, but it wont send to any groups.
The Five P’s is translated to five peas, the 5p or other similar derivatives.

The problem being it isn’t searching or looking for groups in WhatsApp.

TDLR: On Android, is it possible to use Google Assistant to send a WhatsApp message to a group?

Yes it is, and you're doing it right - it just doesn't recognise the name you've given the group. Can that be changed to something a bit more 'standard'? I think that will solve your issue.

Tried it on all groups, about 10 different ones. They don’t pick up any.

Any single contacts work, even ones that have similar and complex sounds.

That did allow 3rd party access to WhatsApp, but hasn’t actually changed anything as it was already alllowed.

Just to add if you say ‘WhatsApp the five P’s’ and then (as normal) it doesn’t find the group, it will just open the phone contacts for you to manually select a contact. Obliviously WhatsApp groups are not there, only individual contacts. It’s not looking in WhatsApp.
