Huge nods to Die Hard 2 but a very entertaining way to pass a couple of hours for a Christmas Eve movie.

Yep agreed, stumbled across it last week - pleasantly entertained.

Also a great actor plays a great evil protagonist, and in a rather different role to his usual stuff.

Very misleading film title. I thought for a moment Sid James and Bernard Bresslaw had been rehabilitated.

It was awful, sorry. Really bad. My wife loved it and I literally nodded off at various points.

My 14yr old son had a go at my wife for recommending it to him laugh

The car on freeway scene - it was almost graphics/bad CGI.

Car crash was bad, I enjoyed the rest of it, my better half thought it was crap, a bit of a marmite film in our house…..

I too came for Sid James and crew, but have also seen Carry On, not good could have been great but it was like they got the cast and crew from a made-for-TV romantic Christmas movie and asked them to do an airport thriller instead.

It would have been better if Taron Egerton hadn't been overacting all the time. The straight to camera stuff was cringey. The director should have reined him in. His performance just illustrated how superior Jason Bateman is as an actor.

As part of their training, actors should study Kevin Costner in the opening scene in Black or White to see how much you can do with very little.

lol yep. I mean - it was no 747 landing on a snow covered runway lit by fire torches but the car crash was a complete... well... car crash.

Of all the films I've watched over the past week I thought this was the worst, very predictable.

It ended up being slightly better than I expected. Not a bad storyline, but the execution didn't work. One of those films that almost as soon as it starts you know it's going to have its flaws.
I've not warmed to Egerton yet, perhaps because I've only seen him in the Kingsman films; I shouldn't judge his appearance but I see him and think he should be on Eastenders rather than in big films.

You should give Black Bird a try

Thought he was pretty good in that, think it is on Apple TV

I’m afraid I laughed all the way through it (which rather annoyed Mrs Wombat). So implausible. Who on earth thinks you can run around in the baggage handling area of a major airport on a busy day and there won’t be anyone else there?

It's a cheesy Christmas action film in the style of Die Hard it's not meant to be a documentary.

I've also seen him as Eddie the Eagle and Elton John, and still wonder why he gets these parts. Perhaps he works cheap.

Oh dear. Derivative, utterly disposable entertainment that was probably about 35 minutes too long. Badly rips-off Die Hard 2 and Phonebooth and overcomplicates the plot in away neither of those better movies did. Lots of unnecessary detail, and the waaay oversized phone-screen overlays ("oooh, the youngsters will love it") were ridiculous to the point of distraction (the info could have been put across just as well with the characters just looking at their screens).

Didn't even realise it was the same guy who portrayed Eddie the Eagle and Elton John so brilliantly, so flat was his acting! Nice to see Breaking Bad's Dean Norris in it, but he was woefully underused.

ESG scoring, while it wasn't made central to the plot, was on front-and-centre display, which was itself a distraction!

Car crash scene (as others have mentioned) was shockingly terrible CGI, and the productions values in general had more of a feel of a (large budget) TV series than a movie.

5/10.
