Discussion
Time for a new thread!
Some info kicking around already from North of the Border:
2025 Beatson's Mull Rally road closures / route out for resident's consultation:
https://mullrally.org/community-consultation/
2025 Snowman Rally, usually the opening round of the SRC, has been cancelled:
Highland Car Club would like to announce that there will be no Snowman Rally in 2025.
Traditionally the opening round of the Scottish Rally Championship and one of the biggest and best attended sporting events in the Highlands has been scuppered yet again. The rally relies on gaining access to forest roads from Forestry & Land Scotland which act as the special stages that form the main competitive element of the event. For next year it has not been possible to secure enough suitable mileage to be able to proceed with the organisation.
This comes as a huge disappointment to the volunteer organising team and will be a massive blow to the competitors, marshals and rally fans near and far that descend on the Highlands at the start of the year. For the second year in a row the event has had to cancel its traditional winter date and whilst it was able to run on a rescheduled date in October this year, this is not a sustainable proposition for the future.
We are grateful to our recent sponsors, AM Phillip Trucktech, for their support, to all our other stage sponsors and to all the local business that help make the Snowman Rally the success it has been. We will now enjoy a rare Christmas break and see what can be done for 2026.

Yeah, disappointing news about the Snowman, and access to forests - and we all know where this ends. It's happened elsewhere in the UK, be it the South Wales forests, Sherwood Pines or reduced seasonal access in Yorkshire. Even Whinlatter only allows early morning access for the Malcolm Wilson, when it used to be all day.
East Riding Stages to Kick Off 2025 BRC - https://www.rallyfish.co.uk/news/east-riding-stage...

25 reserves listed, healthy entry with 2 from M-Sport.

2nd round of the BRC, the Severn Valley Stages, 12th April, cancelled due to NRW removing access due to Storm Daragh damage, and evaluations going on.
Also affects Rally North Wales in March - and possibly other forestry events going forward. Other sporting events using the forests are also affected.
I'm guessing even Red Bull Hardline, Dyfi in late July may not be safe, until everything has been assessed.

Talking to a mate earlier who went between Newtown & Aberystwyth over the holidays, mentioned countless trees down visible from the road.

The annual season of don't go on the grass time trials starts!! Although I confess I did attend the Donington event last year and actually saw cars having to be washed because there was a gravel area!
Joking aside.
Hope it's not too cold.
I did see a shot of them using the old rallycross chicane, but I doubt that sport ever goes back far too dirty and in fairness in the doldrums now after years of infighting and the WRX debacle.

WILLIAM Creighton will team up with Lampeter’s Meirion Evans in 2025, with a two-car assault on the Probite British Rally Championship with the Castrol MEM Rally Team, driving a pair of Toyota GR Yaris Rally2s.
Creighton and co-driver Liam Regan took second place in last year's championship, narrowly missing out on the title which went to Castrol MEM Rally Team's Chris Ingram.

Kris Meeke has had his wish come true with Paddon entering Otago , let's hope mechanical failure doesn't rob them and us fans of a superb battle .
And the other NZRC contenders can breathe a sigh of relief that Paddon will be in the classics instead!
Paddon is also planning a demo run through Kuri Bush in his 2017 WRC car at the end of the rally, even if he takes it steady and low risk I won't be at all surprised if he demolishes the stage record.
