Anyone got some thoughts, experiences to share on living with a Roma?

I gather electrical gremlins aren't unknown, have there been many changes over the years, I'd be thinking coupe, probably '22-23. Dealer experiences would be interesting too, I've never dealt with Ferrari apart from chat with a dealer in Berkeley Square, nice coffee, said all the right things...

Mine's a Nov 21 coupe and I've had it since Feb this year. It's in Grigio Titanio Metall which shows of the curves really well and looks great with the yellow shields and brake calipers.
Done around 800 miles with no significant issues. Just a suspected problem with connecting the charger, which was solved by cleaning the two connection points.
The haptic controls are fine once you get used to them. When I do occasionally accidently activate something, a very useful thing to know is to say 'CANCEL' and that sorts it !
No issues highlighted following the 2024 service / MOT.
Very impressed with the engine/gearbox/brakes - awesome mid-range torque. The various driving settings cover all driving conditions and my driving requirements.
The 'bumpy road' facility is great for British roads.
I can see the car being a fabulous GT, as the seats are very comfy and it has the space for plenty of luggage (for 2). Hence we will be doing a 14 night road tour of Spain & Portugal next year thumbup

Thanks, very helpful info. To be fair I've not heard anything other than the haptic issues, as you say it's something to get used to. I love the look of the car, very understand but classic. Planning to take a closer look in the new year.

Thanks Bennno too... I hear you, I can see what you're saying, hope you're enjoying the open air!

I own a 21 plate car too since Aug 23, and even with additional electronic options like ADAS etc, no glitches at all. I drive it all year round in all but the most harsh weather and it seems pretty much bullet proof.

The 7 years free servicing is lovely too, as you don't winch each year when getting a service. It makes the ownership experience noticeably more enjoyable and relaxed.

I've ran a Coupe for three years and 9,000 miles, and am now running a Roma Spider, which I've had for just over a year and done 3,000 miles.

Short summary - absolutely fantastic cars, and so far totally reliable.

The only issues were at the start with the new Coupe, where the software wasn't glitch free - but a couple of full updates later it was all resolved and I'd expect any car offered now to have the latest software. The key difference was moving the Apple Car play to the central touch screen - huge improvement in usability.

Free servicing for 7 years and four year warranty all make the ownership proposition very easy.

Fabulous to drive and own and enormously good value for money these days I think!

So are all Roma coupes capable of having this update, or is it only ones produced after a certain date that have it fitted?

What's your thoughts on the haptics on the wheel, do you just get used to it after a while?

I’m thinking about a used one of these ,but need some help spec wise .

The seats , are the Daytona seats different aside from the stitching ? I tried a portofino and wasn’t impressed with the seats or sound (does it sound better than the portofino ?)
Are heated seats standard ?
Is the standard stereo sufficient or do you need the upgraded version ?
When I tried the portofino the saleswoman told me that car play was standard on the Roma but it does not look like it as some cars list it as an option but others don’t ?

That’s a good question, I’d imagine the sound is very similar given it’s the same flat plane crank v8.

The portofino seats have a huge range of adjustment, if you can’t get comfy then you will probably need to look to Bentley.

As far as I know, all Roma's can have this update. My car was an early one, and the AppleCar play was initially on the main dashboard behind the steering wheel. This does not work so well as you have to use the haptic controls to manoeuvre around, and that's fiddly. But once I had the big software update, AppleCar play moved to the central screen which is touchscreen. Problem solved.

And that means you don't have to use the haptic controls much; and yes, you do get used to them.

That's really good to hear, as just about the only criticism of the Roma from the reviews was the haptics.

I also think that the Roma is the most beautiful Ferrari design since the 60's.

The seat are all the same just different trims - standard, Daytona stripes, diamond quilt. There are many different trim combinations within those 3 but it's just colour, material, stitching.

Yes, ventilated and memory full electric are both options. [ETA: early cars may not be standard - worth checking if it's important to you, it is controlled in the central touch screen]

Highly subjective, the standard hifi is poor, the JBL upgraded one is ok.

Depends on model year of production (look in the passenger door jamb for the production date sticker). I think any car produced from August 2022 (maybe August 2021?) onwards has wireless Carplay and phone charging as standard. Prior to that date wired Carplay was a paid option as shown on the boot plaque. It's essential that any car is at least on software 93.58.00 with no "view max" soft button on the steering wheel.

Full electric seats with seat heating were standard from launch on the Roma in the UK. The ventilated version was a £4,416 option. Apple CarPlay was an option as well at £2,400.

I've had my Roma for nearly a year now. I wasn't previously a Ferrari fan, but the shape and the positive reviews changed my perception of the brand.

The car had been reliable up until a month ago, when after going for a drive, upon restart, the dash lit up like a Xmas tree, with various failure faults. it turned out to be a faulty battery, caused by the Ferrari SVR (tracker) unit being faulty and draining the battery. This was strange, considering the car is always on trickle charge, when not in use?

The haptic buttons are a pain and the cancelling of the indicators halfway round a roundabout also, but you get used to it. Now upon start-up, the tablet and dash(but not the central rev counter) are usually dark for up to 30 seconds until the software gets up to speed. It's due a service in the next couple of months, so will mention it then.

Otherwise, I'm hugely impressed with the car and so glad I got over my initial misgiving about the brand. The comfort of another 2 years warranty and 5 years free servicing are an added bonus.

Same - also the passenger display sometimes starts, sometimes not.
I find it helps if I activate the car with 1 touch on the start/stop haptic without any brake pedal, leave it to fully boot for a few seconds and don't turn any electrical device on. Only once all the screens have booted, then go for a start.

Thanks for that tip
