I have just taken delivery of a Macan 4S and overall I am really pleased with it, apart from the so called driving assistance functions. I know that they are requied by law now but do any other Macan EV owners know how to disable these functions completely or can you only do it on a per trip basis?

Turn off speed limit assist by setting it as a shortcut on the steering wheel. You press the triangle button. Lane keep assist with the cruise control.

No way to permanently shut off, has to be done each trip via the shortcuts

I think they all switched off when I disabled the stability control.

Only per trip, the speed warning always kicks in on the same stretch of road, creature of habit! The lane warning I have got used to and it is no way near as bad as my daughters A1.

Yeah my Audi is a nightmare and takes too many taps of the less than responsive MMI.

And maybe it’s the roads that I drive but the Porsche satnav has the A12 in Essex as a 60 limit despite the fact that it’s 70, consequently I get the warning the whole way down it unless I switch everything off. Apparently I have the latest version of software. Does anyone know if you use maze do you still get the speed warning?

I am so with you….just posted this elsewhere!

“Testing a Mecan Turbo Electric (I know I know - branding madness…) and there is no ADAS off shortcut so each journey starts with resetting 9 toggles….seriously tempted to write the car off on this basis alone. Am I alone?

Range Rover and Cullinan both have a little button and one press gets rid of the nanny state systems allowing for a short cut to an enjoyable drive. I cannot believe that Porsche have missed this trick particularly as they have a programmable side key on their steering wheel.

Thoughts?”

…I am going to call DMS and see if they can do a software mod to default all of the “assitance” systems to off…..

Let me know as I am desperate to have the speed warning and lane keep assist disabled permanently. The lane keep assist almost caused a crash the other day.

I can switch both off with two hardware buttons - the diamond shortcut to kill the speed warnings and a 3 sec press of the bottom button on the assistance stalk but it’s still a hassle

Setup the quick access shortcut on the main screen, the top switch is the speed warning, so now its a single press. Lane keep assist is the button under the cruise control stalk. Just press it for a few seconds. it is annoying but once you have the shortcut setup its fine.

My 2025 Macan 4S EV puts itself into PARK every time my bottom lifts off the seat even momentarily. This means if I lift up (or shift my weight to one side) to check the blind spot when backing up, the car puts itself into PARK. Can I disable this sensor? unplug something under the seat?

How much do you weigh??

I'm very much a larger athlete, but never get this in my Taycan smile (Seats don't trigger when my kids shuffle round either though, and they're featherweights).

I'd be inclined to talk to the dealer as unless you weigh less than my kids it sounds like something might be wrong.

(Do you not have cameras all over the place on the car? Between those and the mirrors, I don't think I have a reversing blind spot (different car I know).

Not noticed this before on my 4, maybe it's an extra benefit of a 4S? I'll try shuffling around in my seat and see.

The earlier post re disabling lane assist is spot-on, pressing the button quickly becomes second nature. Same in our Fiat 500e, quick double-tap of a stalk. Be preferable if neither had it fitted in first place but disabling really easy.

I don't always switch-off speed warning, it's not actually that annoying, and please don't shoot me down but I actually find it useful in some situations....
