Oil Pressure Warning Light

Morning folks.

My younger brother has a 2008 1.6 petrol MINI convertible. He is currently having issues with the oil warning light coming on when the engine gets warm. The oil level is fine, changed recently to the correct grade, with filter, and there is no sign of any engine knock or noises that might indicate a bottom end issue.

Are there any common issues with this engine that might be worth looking at. Does the oil pressure sensor fail?

Thanks for any pointers that may help. It's Christmas and he is skint so I am looking for the cheapest solution!

The sensors are not unheard of to fail but remember this:

Only use genuine sensors, these cars are particularly sensitive to cheap sh!t sensors.
