Haynes Motor Museum Sunday Service 19/01

Cars, coffee and a live Smith and Sniff podcast recording - what more do you need?

If you’re like us and need something to get excited for in January, then look no further. We can’t promise the road conditions will be any better, but we can promise the UK’s largest collection of cars and bikes dating from 1898 to present day, alongside plenty of laughs with Smith and Sniff.

On Sunday January 19, we’re heading back to Haynes Motor Museum in Somerset after a 17-year hiatus. The Museum was founded in 1985 by John Haynes, nearly two decades after publishing the first Haynes Manual, with more than 200 million manuals now sold around the world. There are in excess of 300 cars on display inside – enough to keep you busy when you’re not listening to Richard Porter and Jonny Smith.

We have space for 500 cars with the Sunday Service running from 09:00 – 12:00 which you can sign up to here, and the Museum will be opening from 10:00 and remain open until 16:30 once we’ve cleared off. Parking outside is free for the Sunday Service, and the museum have very kindly offered us a 30 per cent online-only discount off the museum entry price. An added bonus is that the museum tickets include unlimited entry for a year! There are only a limited amount of discounted tickets available, so pre-booking is essential. We’ll share the 30 per cent discount code two days before the event by email to those signed up to our calendar.

And if you want to experience one of the best automotive podcasts in the UK being recorded live, then you can join our friends Smith and Sniff live on stage from 11:00. Tickets are £20 each (plus booking fee) in support of Mission Motorsport and very limited to 200 seats, so grab yours here before they sell out. Jonny and Richard will chat cars and many other things for roughly an hour followed by an audience Q&A. Bring your full suspension no-name mountain bike or obscure '80s car brochure to be signed, if you like.

We’ll be there with an event-exclusive buy one get one free on all t-shirts and hoodies in case you find some cash stuffed in a Christmas card (even if we’re contactless only) and naturally, you can chat to us about your plans to buy and sell cars on PistonHeads in 2025 too. Lots going on then to kick off the new year, and we can’t wait to see you there.

The Museum café will also be open during the day to keep you refreshed alongside outdoor catering options for the Sunday Service.

The more I see new cars, the more I want to go to places like this. Looks great, esp. those late 80's early 90's F1 cars. Fab.

I expect so as there’s a strong chance Porter will be!

Another person who hasn’t been to the museum, but this gives a good excuse to go.

My daughter and oldest son loved this place. Makes me sad he's moved onto gaming and we've not been in over a year.

If we've signed up for Smith and Sniff, will we also need to purchase the Museum entry tickets?

We have been a couple of times and its been pretty good and very entertaining, but some of the questions at the last one in Oxford were a bit strange. One was a lot like the title of a YouTube Video and there to get the clicks so to speak.

Might look at going to this one, but several hours in the car and in reality, I've only just been to one, so might wait till the summer to go to the next one.

I'm interested to see what happened to the Range Rover though....

I'd love to see a Smith & Sniff podcast recording and this combined with a Sunday Service sounds perfect. But it's either a 4am start or a night in a hotel!

No the Smith and Sniff live recording is separate to the museum. So museum entry is not essential, but highly recommended!

We’re 30 mins from the Haynes museum and go to the breakfast meets occasionally so have signed up to this one. Be nice to have something in dreary January to look forward to! Also got tix for Smith & Sniff pod but will have my 10yr old son with me so hoping it’ll be vaguely family friendly…on that side of things.

The podcast recording is now sold out (it sold out a couple of weeks ago actually) but we still have plenty of space for those that want to park up and join us for free outside, or head into the museum as well thumbup

Not been to a Sunday Service in years (lost login details for my old account!). Will be an early start but never been to Haynes so great excuse to make a day of it and have a drive around Somerset 👍🏼 Anyone going from Goodwood area?
