2013 Ariel Atom 3 - Atom Cup Track Version
Discussion
13,000 MILES FOR RACING CAR! That's no small mileage flat-out full throttle for any race or road car. Whats that on track? +-13,000 laps around Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, OUCH! That's serious. When was the last chassis rebuild? When was the last powerplant and drivetrain rebuild? Otherwise looks like a nice package.
The car had a full rebuild in 2019 including a new factory chassis and new gear-set and driveshafts.
Since I stopped racing the car has done on average 6 rack day or test outings a year. each usually consisting of 4-5 roughly 20 minute runs, not exactly a heavy duty. last year i was only out 4 days.
Each year the car has been fully checked and serviced by the ex chief mechanic of the Atom Cup racing series.
Brands Indy is by far the shortest lap i know, so I'm surpised the lap numbers don't work out higher!

No problem. Yes I was T boned at Silverstone by an 18 year old in a McLaren... It was localised contact low down OSRear. In addition to the chassis, the insurance covered a new rear wheel, upright, driveshaft, mudgard, brake line, gearbox mount, upper and lower wishbone, cantelever arm and body belly pan. As an extra precaution, as part of the rebuild, we also self-funded a NS driveshaft, new gear set (we have kept the old as a spare) and complete engine checkover. The following year we also added a racing clutch and new endurance brake pads all round. Basically the car was rebuilt fully to the highest factory standard and since new in 2013 has been been pro-actively and fully maintained by the Ex Atom Cup chief technician who is a friend/partner rather than a vendor and who knows more about Atoms than anyone outside the factory. You can check with them direct if you like. The successful bidder will get an introduction to the technician if they have any routine start-up queries.
Quick follow up: all the details are in the info book. The technician did the rebuild. Also worth remembering that I've been driving around race tracks at very high speed ever since, without any issues at all. To do that, toe-in, tracking, camber, engine, gearbox, brakes etc.. all need to be perfect... We are both a bit OCD when it comes to set up and safety..
Second follow up: for the avoidance of doubt: This was meant to be my bucket list set up. It even has its own room.. I'm selling, very reluctantly, for health reasons.. My breathing is restricted so I get too tired and I want to stop before I loose concentration coming out of Copse or at the end of Hanger straight..
