My wife bought an LED lamp that came with an EU plug and an adaptor, the wires around the plug have frayed so the lamp no longer works and I'm after the LED Driver on a UK plug but I'm not sure what I actually need to be looking for! Will any adaptor work or does it have to be a specific LED one?

This is what the back of the plug looks like (B&W to try and boost contrast)

From what I can make out that says

XINPower LED Driver

MODEL: AO62 1100500ECI
PRI 100-240V 50/60Hz 0.3A
OUTPUT: 9-11V 500mA 5.5VA
Output voltage (no load) 10V DC

For LED modules only SELV constant current

The back of the lamp says
DC Max. 500mA 11V
1xLED Board 4,5W [it's from Germany so I assume that's 4.5W]

I don't particularly want to burn the house down so any pointers would be appreciated!

LEDs at chip level like a constant current, hence 'drivers' like this are controlled current sources rather than constant voltage sources.

But you have to find one which works over the right voltage range, there are lots of 500mA drivers out there in the 30V area, designed to run lots of LEDs in series.

Look for 500mA 'constant current' LED driver on ebay.

Unfortunately you need to pick through the badly labelled dross.
Not common in 'wall wart' form, I'd probably put one in a plastic box with a mains lead?

Thanks, as you say it's a bit of a minefield trying to find the exact one (lots of battery chargers come up when I put in constant current), I really don't want to just buy a new lamp as it seems a waste but I can understand why someone would!
