Hi Guys

about to embark on Aston ownership after years of TVRs.

Looking for a Vantage roadster, VH platform and am considering one at Grange Hatfield in Concours Blue

Anyone have any observations on Hatfield as a dealer.

Although it will be used in whenver possible in this country, the plan is to do a couple of european trips a year which is where I hope the roof doen element will maximise the experience. on that note how good is the satnav in say a 17 plate car especially n europe.

I'm sure there'll be a few more questions in due course but that'll do for now.

cheers

Mark

There are a few current/former TVR owners in here, so welcome!

The 17 plate have CarPlay (think this is universal?), albeit the screen isn't the best resolution. It's probably the quickest and easiest way to deal with navigation and updates. I took one of mine to Europe last summer, used CarPlay, and had no issues.

It might be possible to upgrade to Wireless CarPlay with a £40 dongle from Amazon. Certainly is on one of my other cars but haven't tried on the Astons yet.

Have dealt with them on both Astons and McLarens (servicing) and would have no complaints, I have spoken to their sales guys too over the years but never bought through them but seem like solid people on both sales and servicing sides.

Can’t help on the Hatfield q but that Roadster looks superb and given the ridiculously low mileage not too painfully priced.
Personally I couldn’t cope with the interior colour seats being so light !
Is the timeless warranty 1 or 2 years ?

I have a 2016, this was factory fitted with AMI2 i.e. no Car Play/Android Auto. After having a 2006 to which I had the Aston Installations Car Play/Android Auto add-on installed due to the laughable sat nav; I immediately went back to AI to get the AMI3 upgrade. The AMI2 does have a better infotainment system & satnav compared to 2006 but the independent, always updated, system from my phone was always going to win.

The AMI3 does have wireless functionality to connect to your phone so the whole experience is just perfect.

I took my car over to Europe earlier this year, everything just worked, it was perfect.

FWIW - I bought a vantage roadster from Hatfield this time last year - they were attentive and helpful, and when I did have an issue, it was dealt with efficiently. A total contrast to the JLR lot next to them.

Well I've pushed the button on a 2018 Vantage roadster in Scintilla Silver.
Hopefully picking it up in Friday.

Just got to learn how to drive it lol

No doubt I'll have a few posts with questions

Think of it as a very complicated better built much-more-expensive-to-run TVR smile

The strangest thing for me at first was having to wave my arm around in mid-air to select a gear...

Gorgeous car. The comment above comparing it to a more complicated but better built TVR made me chuckle.

Enjoy the handover with many smiles for miles 🙂
