Had our heating system drained and flushed about 4 weeks ago now.

Running much better so happy with that but is it normal to still be bleeding rads?

I have to bleed the rads at the top of the house every couple of days - not a lot of air and getting less and less but its still there.

Is that normal?

Cheers

I'd say so yeah... it will take a while do get all the pockets of air out...

You can get additives like the noise reducer stuff that does work but you may not need it.

I kept repeatedly draining mine years ago as I changed every rad in my spare time - lots of bleeding, ticking noises and pressure drops over the next 2-3 months but since then it's been silent, then after a couple of years - no bleeding or top ups required whatsoever.

Does it have inhibitor in it?

Try parking your house on a slope and getting it up to temp next time.

Ah so probably normal then.

Flushed mine in October, still getting air out. Not unusual at all

Our system is relatively easy to bleed, the combi boiler has a mode which cycles the pump full on/off, a few circuits of the house turning one rad on at a time sorts it.
The boiler has an auto bleed valve, but you still have to bleed each rad to some extent.

Also, there's one rad at the top of the stair which seems to collect most of the air.

If you keep needing to bleed significant volumes of air, then the system leaks.
Or it's not really air, it's some other gas because there's some chemistry or electrolysis going on.

Systems need to be properly rinsed and inhibitor added after chemical cleaning.
