Well I thought I’d start this to swap tales of wonderment using the mighty beast.
We’ve got a umf (ultra mild facelift) Noble at £330 for 4 bloody years 8k a year.
My wife’s car replacing a 20 year old Saab convertible petrol.
Main drivers to purchase are price, spec, dealer locality.
Anyone else got one?

Just curious if the terms and conditions of the in car entertainment specify sharing your personal data with parties in China? We’ve got a umf (ultra mild facelift) Noble at £330 for 4 bloody years 8k a year.

Only asking because I have that in my BMW, where my personal data from the car goes to Germany.

That is extraordinary - and bizarre!Only asking because I have that in my BMW, where my personal data from the car goes to Germany.
Raises the question of how many other brands have similar conditions buried in the Ts & Cs?
Just ordered (for my lovely mrs) the top spec petrol Noble 290t - been quoted £453 a month over 4 years and 15k miles allowance per year.
Had 2 Nissan Qaushkiiiiis (still cannot spell it...) on 4 year lease and monthlies have gone from £240 in 2016/2020 to £290 in 2020/2024 and they are now quoting £520 for the same 3rd car - so they can poke it.
Went to Jaguar in Hull for some new wheel nuts for my S Type R and was confused by showroom contents. However, the general look & feel of the OMODA was 'almost' as good as modern Jag's and certainly made the current Nissan feel dated. Returned on Friday for a test drive by wife and she said yep!
She was a bit disappointed by colour range on offer but other than that, all good.
If I have more to add, I shall report back on.

If the Chinese want to spy on my wife visiting every graveyard on the Wirral and talking to her mates they are very welcome. Only asking because I have that in my BMW, where my personal data from the car goes to Germany.
They seem a decent proposition with decent specs for the price. It almost seems like an electric qashqai really. Interested to know how you find it. I see they do a navy blue metallic on the website but can’t see one in the country on auto trader.
Ultra mild facelift? What’s that all about, they’ve barely launched?

Hatfields in Hull had a blue'un outside but it looked a bit unremarkable on a grey friday morning last week.Ultra mild facelift? What’s that all about, they’ve barely launched?

Most higher spec cars of the last few years have come with phone apps that let you configure things like charging times for EVs, pre-heating and lots more. Using that functionality requires data and instructions to be passed via a service in a cloud somewhere, so of course they have to transfer some of your personal data.
I would be suprised these days if any manufacturer didn't utilise data from their vehicles.

It a bazaar world were people share their whole life on Facebook and worry about sharing data with BMW or Tesla. I am sure the tracking data in my phone gives someone greater insights into my life than just car data.
I don't think it's bizarre. I highly doubt the same people who share their lives on social media are the ones who are reluctant to share information with car manufacturers. As someone who runs manhunts at a national level for a living I agree that both phones and cars can give an enormous amount of data about the user but given a free pass where I could only choose one but get that data immediately, I'd snap your hand off for the car data.

I don't share my life on Facebook, and I value brands that are "transparent" on what data they collect and which 3rd parties it is shared with, hence my query about how Omoda does things. For example, I can at any time, login to my BMW account and request this Cardata report.

I currently have a Ford with the full driver assistance package. It is partially transparent and it will let you know what it is collecting and why. However, if you try and turn off a few of the things for privacy, it starts turning off features in the car! I get it, you want to try and promote data sharing, but not by hobbling the car!

Ah, thats cool! A lot of people in the data governance and privacy spaces complain about Germany and their policies / rules / laws. But what it does mean is that there is transparency and this is a good thing for consumers.

Could you be more precise about what features are disabled by what privacy setting?I currently have a Ford with the full driver assistance package. It would be interesting to try and figure out why!
