So there’s a lot of rumours around that red bull have sacrificed Perez over the past few races to ensure they come third in the WCC to get more wind tunnel time for next year.

Could there be any truth in this? How much extra time is there between 1st 2nd and 3rd? I know the money is significant but what are the other benefits of coming 3rd?
