Santa came early for me with a nice 55" smart OLED Tv.
For other users....what nice functions/things have you found when playing around with it.
For me. I have discovered if the pointy icon thingy that follows where you point the remote goes off, a quick twiddle of the ball on the remote brings it back on. Love it when having to type something.

It took me while before I realised that the LG magic remote has a microphone built in, now find it far easier just to speak to the TV when searching for stuff rather than inputting the string via selecting each letter on the OSD though I'm still quite adept at that (probably from playing computer games as a child and inputting names the same way).

Really annoying feature IMO, and can't be disabled!(apparently you can de-solder a sensor in the handset but havent been brave enough yet)

Very useful, thanks.I've had the telly for a year, and just the other day I was prompted to add an app to quick access, but had no idea how to do it - nothing in the menus/settings.

C4 owner here - if using an external device via HDMI (not internal apps) press the green button 7 times fairly quickly & up will pop an info box for the incoming data . . . For other users....what nice functions/things have you found when playing around with it.

Also I think you already have this sussed, but if you press & hold down the 0 (zero) button you'll be able to edit the 1-9 Quick Start shortcuts or whatever they are called!
Another Also - depending on what you are doing at the time single-pressing the Back button will swap between the last two channels . . . I think this is only when watching TV via the aerial.
eta another - I wish there was way to lower the sensitivity of the channel pointer so it doesn't move quite so fast.
ie even lower than the settings already provided in the pointer Settings menu!

New G4 owner here also, still getting used to it, wish there was a way of turning off the wavy finger but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Picture is so much better than my ~10 YO Samsung LED.
What is annoying though is the colour cast when using a Firestick 4k max. I've been through a number of the online LG OLED set-up guides, and firestick settings, but can't get rid of the slightly hazy yellow tint. It's there on any app. Youtube, Prime, etc apps on the TV itself are fine but its more convenient to watch from the stick sometimes, especially for the kids.
Don't mean to hijack but interested if anyone has experienced the same issue, and what settings I need to change to make it work properly!

I am struggling with this. Have been looking to replace my 10 yr Samsung HD (£900 back in 2014) with a new TV. I find that once I ask to see the standard HD images in store, other than the highly processed 4k images being displayed (which are stunning), I found my old TV is sharper and a better picture. Someone told me it's due to the upscaling of HD to 4K.
Do you really think the screen is better, and maybe I just need to get used to it..? As I can't seem to find a replacement, LG/Sony or Samsung. Also am being told not to consider OLED, but all the OLED screens I see are really bright/sharp yet I read the opposite...?

OLED screens don't get as bright as other TVs, but they show true black, so if you can make the room low light, you won't get a better picture.jj
If your room is bright and can't be dimmed, then another type of TV would be better as they can get brighter, but you won't get the true blacks that OLED offers.
Sharpness I'm not sure why there'd be a problem. 4k is 4k, on a bigger screen the pixels will be stretched more, if you look up close you will see blurriness, but if you're sitting an appropriate distance away for the size of screen, this shouldn't be noticeable. Reduced sharpness will most likely be due to the source rather than the panel itself.

This may be completely irrelevant to your problem, but I'll mention it anyway. On my C1 if I try to watch any content on the inbuilt Amazon Video app, it asks me if I want to switch to filmmaker mode every time. Filmmaker mode seems to just make everything yellow. Check the video settings to see if the fire stick has changed the display to filmmaker mode.What is annoying though is the colour cast when using a Firestick 4k max.
