I’m obviously naive, but in what way is it ok to let former Chinese spy, sorry ‘military operative’, live in the uk? Can someone like that seriously just get on a plane, arrive and decide to live here?

Shouldn’t any former military / secret service etc from an unfriendly foreign power simply be refused? I just don’t see what benefit it is to let someone in who would have previously been working against us.

Previous, too: "The court heard Lu had no previous convictions, but Chen was previously convicted of assaulting an elderly couple while living in the village of Balderton, near Newark, Nottinghamshire, in 2020."

I think the mum (ex-intelligence officer in the Chinese army) has a previous conviction here in uk, but the daughter (Lu) does not.

I imagine that whilst she was working for Chinese intelligence/military she was also working for us.

An intelligence officer in the army isn't a spy.

For a start, they'd be wearing uniform...

Bearing in mind the the time of year, any decent spy will be covered in Mint...
