Is there really a market for a V8 Astra?

Would love the car, but £300,000, you must be kidding me!

People would be interested up to about 50k. After that they start thinking... 300k, gets you a secondhand F40 AND F50 with enough change to buy a TVR Cerbera as a shopping car ferchrissakes! Alternativelly it would get you a secondhand Mclaren F1

And this months Evo has a 500bhp Rover for £45,000. You could (almost) have one of them for every day of the week instead of one Astra.

A DTM car on the roads? Great... £300k for a Max Power Astra? Please. The cannot even sell the very capable VX220's because they are Vauxhall, so how on earth do they expect to sell an Astra at that price... X-treme? I'd say...

How much did Ford do the RS200's or Rovers 6R4 for and what are they worth now anyone know ??? Its probably the closest we've had before.

Errm..I think 6R4's were 35K list, dropping to 13K or so after Gp B was banned and Rover just wanted shot of them. Difficult to price now as most are much modified and medium battered ex-clubman rally cars. Think I saw a pristine one for 30K ish a few months back. Cheers, AdrianR
