Afternoon all,
After doing Le Mans for the last 20 or so years, this year we're looking to do the trip as usual and then when we leave on the Monday morning, travel to the Nurburgring to do a lap... just to say we've done it.

My questions are ...

Is it just rock up and go ?
How much is it ?
Are there campsites local ?

Looked online and there are various conflicting threads, so absolutely any help would be very much appreciated
:-)

Drop ukkid35 a pm, what he doesn't know about The Ring isn't worth knowing.

Worth checking that tourist laps are available, the Ring 24 is the week after Le Mans, not sure how far in advance they would close the track for set up etc, bearing in mind there will be loads of campers already there for the 24, presumably teams too

The Monday will be crazy round the ring as everyone waits to get their regular spot as the campsites open for them on Monday morning.

Regarding laps this year the last TF was the Sunday before the race and the circuit was only open for driver training on Monday and Wednesday. With the main event Thursday through to Sunday.

Good call, not thought of that one. May have to go the week before Le Mans or plan completely separate date.

Thanks guys, looking at the overall consensus, it will have to be another date when its less busy and not around LM time.
Another excuse for a foreign trip it is then

Dates are not going to be out for tourist drives till end of the month / Jan 25

N24 is after Le Mans and usually close the place week before as everyone descends to set up camp. Would just add its a LONG drive from Le Mans to the Ring but is still decent.
