HI there

I have a Toyota Aygo 09 with a broken rear windscreen heater.
There is voltage flowing through all of it and there are no breaks - the issue is that the connector on one side of the glass has come off (see images).

Do you think it is possible to rejoin this? It looks like there is a layer of copper with a thin layer on top - someone has tried to repair it and rubbed away back to the glass. Other advice is replace the whole glass but need to find the exact replacement as some seem to have only the connection on one side

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks
Phil

^^^^ Wot 'e said.

90% it is un repairable.

You could try some electrically conductive paint, but it will almost certainly not work, because you then need the connector to stay in place, which is highly unlikely unless the paint will actually also work like glue.

Find out how much a new glass would cost, but you might find electrically conductive epoxy a possible alternative: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MG-Chemicals-Silver-Epoxy... It's expensive stuff though.

I once soldered one back onto a rear window. Was worried about breaking the glass with the heat, but it worked. Certainly for the two years that I kept the car for.

Is the the rear windscreen the bootlid on these?

Probably cheaper and easier to buy a bootlid off a scrapper.

The glass IS the tailgate.
