I thought i would pop in to show my Vette i got about 5 months ago. And wonder of there are more folk in Manchester with a C3. Seems quite on here for these cars.
I jacked in with boats as got fed up of them and found this by chance. I always wanted one and when the chap messaged me about this Vette i couldnt say no. Although ti was in Redruth and i am in Manchester.

It only needed the heads replacing..............yes i got carried away.

As it was a meant to be a quick project it ended up a bit more as when i was refitting the heads a head bolt had stripped the head so as it was in a place where access was to small the engine had to come out.
I could of lifted it half out and done it but why do that.

And so there it starts.

And this led to so ,much more i put this up to work in. Cant be doing these project not under cover.

Ill add more later.

Any more Vette Heads local ?

Is this a dying thing then here.

Ill try to add as i can. mite perk the place up a bit.

So engine out. and easy fix to helicoil it.

well frist had to geta few new gadgets, i need to make life easier now i am getting owd haha

couple of comepressors for the blast cabinet

I joined them together for a bit more capacity. cant be doing woith a smaller compressor kicking in in a tew minutes and n then not stopping.

so engine out and helicoil at hand.

Cheap these kits now. i think about £25 for an Imperial set, all i have is metric and as we know the yanks love Imperial, as i do aswell really. Alhtough thsi ear they used both on cars and things.

I drilled out the stripped thread, for what it is worth then fitted the helicoil.

Easy as that really. and a better/stronger fit that the original threaded hole.

This may shock/scare even puzzle some folk.

I made these lifts to make life easier. some folk dont get why i need so high, well if you work under cars a lot then you will understand if you have bad knees and well kanckered body haha

Since I've owned my C7 this area of PH hasn't really been a thriving section of the site.
There is https://www.corvetteclub.org.uk/ but TBH the forum section there is fairly slow, as well, although maybe I'm just comparing that with some of the sub forums on here, which obviously have thousands of posts per day.

If I've ever had questions I need a quick answer to, I've headed to https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/

Hi kida, i am a member of CCUK, dont bother with American sites are there are to many grumpy folk about on there. If folk are interested on here it fine. Gives more time to playout with the Vette smile

C7 owner here. Corvette forums in UK are dead.

Hardly anyone ever posts anything. When I posted on CCCUK some years ago about paint depth, paint hardness, paint thickness gauges....the most sophisticated answer came from someone who used Autoglym, by hand.

Another post, I did not reply immediately as it was about 4 days later when I logged on. The person who responded was rather sarcastic with a 'Thank you!', because I had not replied.

SO...it is interesting to see someone doing something with a C3 and posting about it..I will watch with interest and keep up the good work.

Nice! I knew about yours Dave, not the other two.

Not sure it's worth me starting a thread, I don't do anything to my car, and it only does about 500 miles a year, shamefully.

There is a thriving CCCUK North West regional group with many active members and over 30 C3s.

True, the CCCUK website forum is not widely used, however if you post any queries on there you will usually get an expert response!
