Is there anyone else who doesn't GAF about Snoopy?

I get it, there are some nice Snoopy watches, but I have absolutely zero emotional connection to that specific character, it does nothing for me at all.

Haha. I’ll be spamming this post this afternoon when mine arrives.

I’ve started to appreciate them more as I’ve gotten older. Younger me would have thought they were naff.

I'm in the DGAF camp as well. I don't have anything against them or the folks who buy them, but I do not understand spending £10,000 on a first class engineered watch with a cartoon character on it.

I'm sure 8 year old me would have loved it!

Just an O. If a babysitter came around with a snoopy on his watch, I’d decline, that’s all.

I think it's up to your mummy and daddy if they decline.

Had an original Omega Snoopy, sold it for a massive profit 2 and a bit years ago, miss it but it financed a stunning 'grail' watch. Would like another some day

I quite like the Timex Snoopy watches, just about the only watch I can share with my daughter.

Are you aware of the significance of the Silver Snoopy Award or have you done zero research into the snoopy watches before posting.

Snoopy as in the cartoon character? Why would you want that on an expensive adults watch?

If you know nothing about the silver snoopy award or the Apollo 13 mission then you probably don’t.

The Ultraman speedmaster however…….what a load of crap.

Yes, I am 100% aware. I don't know, maybe it's more of an American thing, but because I never watched it as a kid, I don't have any emotional attachment to Snoopy at all, regardless of the award. So you could have an employer award Yogi Bear pins, stick that on an expensive watch, and I'd still be non-plussed.

Personally (when it comes to Omega) I'd rather have a std Speedy, or different limited edition one, but the the Snoopy ones do nothing for me even though everyone seems to go gaga for them. YMMV.

Quite. Also, how condescending to assume that people don’t know about the silver snoopy award just because they think having a cartoon character on their watch is naff.

I got into watches through reading the watch section of PH. It struck me like a breath of fresh air with its friendliness compared with much of the rest of PH (except the Rolex threads of course hehe )

But calling people peados because they have different tastes than you FFS!

Anyway, anyone who's interested in the origins of cartoon characters and their links with watches may find this article interesting. Even some bloke called Genta made one. I mean, wtf did he know about designing watches anyway!
