New to me... 991.2 GT3
Discussion
Just a week in now to the first Porsche I've owned, a 991.2 GT3.
Car history, or at least the more interesting parts of it have included a TVR which bought me to pistonheads in 2003, M3, M4, M5, Impreza RB5, MX5, Z4
After considering a few cars, landed on the GT3 as I felt that it offered a great blend of feeling special, being a reliable proposition and doing what I want it to do. Picked this one up from Chester OPC just over a week ago and enjoyed a decent run out across the Shropshire Hills on Saturday with my son who also has the automotive affliction. Great to start getting to know the car though of course, I'm nowhere near to really stretching it's legs as yet.
I was previously using an M4 convertible, so quite a change. I'm really, really noticing the 350kg weight loss and the way that it sheds speed on the brakes is incredible, it has the PCCBs. It's a 1 owner car, which I found to be unusual for a GT3, with all of the history at a single OPC
Incredible engine and gearbox combo as well, it's PDK and I have no regrets with my choice. It's also 'comfort' spec i.e. not club sport and has the 18 way adjustable seats which I find very, very good. It's surprisingly dual purpose, in traffic on the A roads I just left it in auto and it mooches along, when you get to a clear stretch and some bends, PDK goes over to manual, sports exhaust open and it changes character, though with damp roads I'm yet to get past 6000rpm. You do have to recalibrate the way that you drive Vs a high torque turbo engine. I have changed the tyres for PS4, keeping the Cup 2's for warmer times.
A week in, this feels like a keeper. I'm aiming to do some decent road trips over the summer, so will hopefully have some decent pictures and tales to tell !

I saw this at Chester week before last I think when I was up there for warranty stuff.
They still look brand new and the .2 is definitely worth it.
Congratulations!
Yes, it was Chester OPC that supplied the car new and subsequently where the original owner traded it and I purchased it. They were very good, so I'm leaning towards continuing to use them for servicing as I can make it a decent cross country drive and a day out if and when needed. They still look brand new and the .2 is definitely worth it.
Congratulations!
It's with them for PPF later this month, didn't have it from new, but even so it is immaculate.
Looks stunning, not sure if it’s the one I saw there recently, I am in the process of refurbing an older model and out of interest went to get some part / labour prices, parts were really reasonable, labour was more than Aston Martin.
It really isn’t Porsche Chester though, it’s in Ellesmere Port (Little Stanney) basically on the Wirral!

No, it's 100% Cheshire West and Chester. Have to go a bit further down the M53 to hit the Wirral. It's Porsche Cheshire Oaks to me.
