Going through some stuff and got to two Imacs

Specs as per these pics




Any value in them?

Wouldn't mind one of them as a TV or media centre type thing but I don't think you can cast from Google devices. So are they landfill or useable for something?

The iMac I'm using to browse the forum right now is a 2010 model and still going strong. I'm reluctant to get rid of it even though the software is a bit out of date and no longer getting updates.

You can probably update the software unofficially.

Update to the unofficial O/S and gain new life, my 2012 is running anew again.

I have erased both discs and I am in the process of updating the OS

Looks like they aren't really worth much in terms of cash.

Wouldn't use either in anger (wife now has work supplied windows gear and I use android and have a windows desktop and laptop)

Definitely too good to bin though.
Will investigate the media player angle further
