.............you had left the car in the garage.
Went with my brother down to the A1 Grand Prix at Brands Hatch today.
Decided to take the TVR. My brother had quipped earlier in the week "he did want to get there" when I said I might take it.
After about 30-45min queue on the m25 (M20) exit, just pulled onto the roundabout when it stalled. Turn the key.....................Silence. Bu99er......Try Again.............nothing...............Third time nothing. We are going to have to push it. Luckily the traffic was queued on the bridge, both my brother and I jumped out and started to push, we were also joined by a couple of traffic police who were parked up and helped push it to a lay by. Bonnet up for 10 minutes and it fired up again. Guess the replacement starter motor fix didn't work
Major embarrasement but that's what I've come to expect from that lump of plastic
Anyway watched the racing (will try and post some pics) then spent about 1hr and a half in the car park, trying to get out when someone in a Mondeo decides to get friendly with the rear of the TVR.
After a quick inspection all looks ok. will need to check in the morning. It was only a low speed knock.
Then spent about another hour in queues with the fans coming on & off, the temp nudging 100 deg mark and the idle going lumpy, revs all over the place. I knew if it stalled I would be bu99ered again!!
Finally got home at 7.45, I think we had got to the car just after 5pm!!
Wish I had taken the Supra now. At least I'd still have some feeling in my left toes

1) Two stage cooling
2) Adjustable otter switch
3) Hot start modification
He's a top bloke, knows his stuff and his mods work well.

25 - the first sprint race was surprisingly processional, but the main race was very lively, lots of incidents, just gutting that the GB driver - Robbie Kerr - who was running a close third to the Aussie, and then managed to jump both him and Piquet in the pit stop to take the lead
then broke down The support racing was good too, the whole event seemed very well put together, much like being at an F1 race, with a good bit of razzamataz before the start for the official launch of A1GP.
Only bugger was getting out at the end - total gridlock!
Oh yes. Was due to go out yesterday to meet another PHer and some friends. Got the Griff onto the Drive way. Started up, stalled, started up, stalled, started up gave it some revs, suddenly revs shoot up so I switch off. A few minutes of this and then the sky opens up and it starts to pour with rain. Open up the engine bay to find that I forgot to reconnect the airflow meter after putting the exhust manifolds back on. Then find small piece of debris on one of my throttle bodies, hence jamming it open. I am well and truely soaked by now and the inside of the car is misting up badly. Finally get the car going, now running massively late. Drive down the road, water pouring in the windows as the blower is cr*p and the car won't demist.
I should have accepted a lift or the use of my brother's car.
So I arrived late and smelling of damp carpets. But on the up side it was dry on the way home and the roads were clear.

I had an occasional hot start problem, fuel pump would prime, but no action from the starter. This then developed into every time I stopped once the engine was hot. I bought the Hot Start kit (took about 45 mins to fit, could do it again in about 15) and I've not had the problem since. Result

Sorry to hear about your day....
I reckon is was probably worse cos your brother had a dig earlier...
We were going to have a run down to the racing but other stuff got in the way.

There were 25 cars starting, 13 finished
The T400R was racing in the GT250 race Took the Chim to Leven this morning, they are going to have a look & try a few things in a couple of weeks. The car did get very warm yesterday on the way back, idling for about 2 hours in traffic!!
Doesn't help when the engine suddenly decides it doesn't want to idle and you have to be quick with your right foot to keep the revs up. Try doing that stop start, slipping the clutch, whilst moving about 10mph and braking with the handbrake. After about 2 hours you can understand why I wasn't too happy with it last night
