There's been a lot of comment regarding the practical issues around the process of changing centre lock wheels ... and I have come across the Nut-Cracker which appears to be a reasonably priced and very practical solution.

Does anybody have any experience of this ?

Herewith a link which incudes explanatory images and how-to videos ...

I think it is by comparison to others that I have seen ... if you know better I would love to be pointed in that direction ...

I do already have a massive torque wrench but really, it's not a great solution for the do-it-yourself owner.

Due to the process as detailed in the handbook .... it's a pain in the bum ... 600Nm is a lot !

To be precise I worry about the wheel turning whilst trying to tighten or un-tighten the centre lock, I worry about the socket slipping off the centre lock nut, I worry about the car moving on the jack ... and I worry about me ...

That looks like a very expensive torque multiplier .

I mentioned on another thread and much cheaper way

I can't see any good quality torque multiplier that is significantly cheaper than this ... and the complete kit includes the extended wheel centre to avoid damaging ceramic discs and the brake lock to fit between PCCB and manual brake pedals and the seat runner, avoiding any risk of slippage and / or marking the seat cushion.

Chris - just to say thanks for sharing. Having just got my GT3 I’m looking at a spare set of wheels so I can swap tyres over hence I’m looking at options. Useful to know about this and will be investigating. Thx.

Me also ... at the moment Strasse are storing my summer wheels and tyres ... and it's easy to change to winter tyres (PS4S) at the end of the season when the car is spanner checked (now done) ... but not so easy in the other direction whenever Spring comes smile

On the other hand they have been very helpful !!!
