Hi all

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to lookup or create a list of postal addresses within a certain distance from a fixed location.

The use case would be a domestic customer of ours - we would use their address as the centre of the search area, and then we would generate a list of addresses within a micro-distance from them ie the same road, or within 500m of that address.

I realise we could do this manually just on google maps, but would like to semi-automate it. Don't mind "pay to play" charges, but dont want to be investing lots of cash upfront for a setup.

Thanks

NDA

There are a ton of companies offering this, the most obvious being the Post Office and their partners -

And, of course, there is the chance to overlay data to target 'look alike*' households both regionally and nationally. Companies like Outra (for example).

  • 'Look alike' is a recognised term and it's where you start with key target criteria based on an existing customer (age, sex, demographic, household attributes, purchasing habits etc) and use that data to find similar or identical households.

Have a look at Loqate and their reverse geocoding.

I like their stuff because it's PAYG, there are different price points depending on usage.

I've got the data to do this very easily.

If you say the postcode and the radius you want that will give an idea of how many addresses are involved. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post in the thread.

Thanks NDA - I will check out the list of suppliers on there. I had been aware of that list, however I assumed that my needs may be considerably smaller than what they cater for. However, this is just an assumption. I will get in touch with some of them - cheers!
