How to tell if M240i Cab has Carplay

obvious solution is ask the salesman to connect his iphone to the car in question and see if carplay loads.

The VIN should allow the dealer to have a full list of options, including CarPlay (or CarPlay preparation).

If they are not able to do this, find another dealer.

Alternatively, pop in the VIN yourself in a VIN decoder like Mdecoder.com

Yes, they are trying this later today. If it doesn't, I need to try and establish if its just coding/download from the BMW App store or is it extra hardware that needs to be fitted.

I know for a fact it has S609A Nav Pro as I have seen the VIN sheet.

Should show up as a selectable option in the I drive if its installed.

If it has idrive 5 or 6 it will at least be carplay compatible.

If its idrive 4 you will need to retrofit a combox or get someone to upgrade the software to idrive5 if possible on that unit (it is on some)

As per the other thread, the BMW Connected Drive sale is on at the moment.

If the car is compatible, CarPlay is reduced from about £265 to £212. This is a one off payment for unlimited use. Pretty good value and a decent negotiation point for the car if it doesn’t have it.
