I've got a sinus on one side that feels blocked, I can also smell it feeling a bit musty if that makes sense. No mucus coming down, but a bit of gloopy stuff down the throat occasionally.

Could this be a fungal infection? it is that crap time of year where everyone's indoors and I've had horrendous sinus problems before and I'm wondering if this is just getting worse every year.

Do you treat it?
Otrivine does a good job of clearing the tubes, and you can get Clarinase steroid nasal spray over the counter or on prescription, that combo works well for me.

Otrivine is a horrible solution to a blocked nose. Yes it works well, really well. But after you've been on it for a few days, it feels like your sinus are full of concrete when you stop using it. And every time you use it that sensation of being concreted up lasts longer, the only relief being to take more Otrivine.

It took me several colds to twig this a few years back after someone recommended it to me. Really great game changer the first couple of times I used it,but by god the effects afterwards were horrendous, worse than the cold by far.

When I asked the person who originally recommended it to me what her experience was it turns out she'd been on it for 7 years as she could barely breathe without it !!!

Avoid.

exactly the same for me except that after a week of otrivine every 2/3 hours it would simply stop working. eventually went to see an ENT specialist who realised that I had polyps and prescibed mometasone spray which addresses polyps and also many of the causes of nasal congestion. quick squirt every day and had zero nasal issues in 3 years.

Beconase is the usual go to for my nasal.

Im not blocked though, I can breathe healthily.

I might go to the doctor tbh, when I do a steam if I blow hard enough I get that trumpet sound coming out of the nasal blocked at the moment.
