Afternoon folks

I had a blow out on the Motorway on Saturday and had to get recovered back home afterwards. I took the wheel off yesterday and it turns out the coil spring broke and went through the inner side wall of the tyre.

I am going to replace the entire strut assembly and I have been looking at prices today. Ideally, due to me not having spring compressors, I would like to buy a full Strut/Spring assembly. Can anyone recommend a supplier that can supply the full assembly as I haven't been able to find one?

If I can't find this I will have to buy coil spring compressors and some bravery pills.....I always hated doing this back in my youth!

Thanks

Brian

First off don't be frightened of spring compressors, I have used my cheap draper ones many times over the last 40 odd years. Be careful for sure, but a pair of safety specs and a hi vis jacket should have you covered smile

Really don't worry, if you are capable of removing a strut compressing a spring should be easy. If it really is that scary just ask a local garage to compress the spring for you. Oh and always best to replace both sides not just one side.

Do a search on google for BMW Mini strut assembly there are a few sites offering this.
