Hik Vision - Any Gurus?

My new house came with a nice CCTV setup. I have a Hik Vision DS-7068 NVR but I do not have the password, and cannot access the box. I think the simplest solution here is to just buy a new box, but is there a better competitor product I can buy that is a lot quieter? I think the cameras are industry standard.

The box is located in the lounge and the fans are noisy. Otherwise it is quite a complicated rewire to move the box elsewhere where noise is not an issue.

I'm no guru at all but we have the iDS-7204. It's only 18 months old but runs completely silent ( how long will that last?)

Ours was installed by a local security company. They recommended this particular set up so can't say how it compares to others.

Regarding access, you could email around to see if there any installers/security companies that might be able to help/advise?

You can buy a new HikVision box but get one without PoE to power the cameras.

Then buy a small silent PoE switch.

Problem solved but you'll have to do a bit of additional configuration with this kind of setup.
