I need some brass strip 4mm wide x 0.5mm thick. Can't find it anywhere... does anyone know where I could get some?

Thanks Paul; their advert says they don't ship to GB but I've sent them a message so we'll see.

A few model suppliers to the model railway guys may have such an item. Certainly many trader stands at model railway exhibitions seem to stock small scale brass strips and tubes.

I have some brass earth straps, they aren't very long.
What size do you need?

4mm wide x 0.5mm thick. Only half a metre needed.

The usual purveyors of small metal goods, K&N and Albion Allys, don't do it. I bought some 1mm thick strip from Etsy and thought I could grind it down to 0.5mm, but even after annealing I could make very little impression on it. I can find 6mm wide strip, but can't think how to slice 2mm off leaving a clean edge.

Pretty much anyone selling brass sheet will have a guillotine and will cut a 4mm strip of 0.5mm, although it's likely to distort to some extent, worse if they're sloppy about keeping the blade sharp.
