With the arrival of the CB1000 Hornet and Hornet SP they seem to be priced really keenly. Staring at £9999 for the non sp.

If you look at the 2023 priced CB1000s for sale now many are priced the same or higher so I guess these will need big discounts to clear?

It’s a shame the SP only comes in black as I prefer the normal colours but would want the SP.

It has the 2017 blade engine so I like the inline 4. They said they have a milder cam. I think a pipe and remap and maybe a cam swap will make for a quick bike.

I'm sure it'll be great but I did doubletake at the red one at first.

Thought that I was looking at the Monster 937 that I had last year biggrin

I’m sure the non SP model is £9000 and the SP is £10000. Very keenly priced indeeed, I’ll probably be weighing up one of these or the new cbr600rr once they’ve depreciated a bit!

I just don’t like all those low slung pointy headlights on a naked bike. Nice round 7” (or thereabouts) one would make it much more desirable to me.
Both my bikes have round headlights.

I think that’s a decent compliment. The only thing that puts me off the monster is the lumpy twin engine. I have a multi V2s….great bike but don’t like the engine.

I think the CB1000 has the single light.

I have a 2022 CB1000R black edition that has the single round headlight.

I think it’s a lovely looking bike.

A British chap who lives in mainland europe did a few videos on his. He said the headlamp wasn't very good and the paint was soft. One of his YouTube videos on the bike was wrapping the tank.

I've seen the Plus ones with the heated grips and quickshifter around £6500 ish. Neeves was complimentary on the bike's launch. I want a headlamp that works. I am not sure I can be arsed messing around with supplementary lamps so I can see at night. I don't like black bikes or matt and satin finishes. The previous, previous generation CB1000R had better paint schemes.

They look good, the red Hornet shown in this thread looks like the Hornet 750.

My first thought when I saw the new one (and the price smile) was "I wonder if I could just fit a round headlamp, perhaps with a quarter fairing to hide the instrument tablet.". scratchchin

I get the paint comment as the tank does appear to pick up really fine marks easily; however, I can’t comment on the quality of the headlight as it doesn’t get used at night smile

Infinitely better. The outgoing CB is a handsome machine, and the build quality looks like a Honda should.

Thank you for the reply. They're a good looking bike.

Have they not gone more back to this shape with the 2025 bike , more angular styling ?
I personally prefer the more angular shape of this generation & the 2025 bike , and much prefer the colour ( been painted assume ) over black or grey
Nb seriously thinking about this bike .

What a bargain these appear to be.

£8995 for the standard one

£9995 for the SP which is probably worth the extra.

Is there another new 1000cc 150ps bike out there for less? (or even close?)

You could get a Gsx S1000 for the same but list is above this so you’d need a deal but they are around.

I think the Hornet has much more sophisticated elec package (IMU) and a much more modern design to include a much better dash and things like the heated grips.

I do like the GSX though as a comfy bike and it is a great engine that remaps really, really well. Unless they have updated the elecs I think it is pretty basic stuff (if that matters)

Nope - no cornering ABS or IMU.

Its a storming deal as it is. If it had IMU and cruise they would sell out instantly at that price even in the crap market conditions we are seeing.
